Title: Assistant Patient Care Manager
Department / Facility: Endoscopy
Tenure: 10 years
I stand for TEAMWORK and IMPROVING MYSELF
TEAMWORK: Teamwork is essential to achieve the same goal in order to provide the best care to the Endoscopy patients at Stanford. As a manager, I am successful because of contributions of my excellent team, as I couldn’t do it without their cooperation.
IMPROVING MYSELF: Stanford Hospital provides a Transformation Scholarship for employees deciding to return to school. Due to this scholarship, I am currently enrolled at Stanford/SFSU Master’s Cohort Program at the hospital. This opportunity allows me to attend graduate school on site after work to help me in my personal and professional development.
What brought you to Stanford?
I came to Stanford Hospital & Clinics because of its reputation as one of the best hospitals in the nation. Stanford is a teaching institution that provides comprehensive training for new graduates and experienced nurses. Stanford encourages and supports on going learning which has allowed me to explore and learn different areas of nursing in the last 10 years that I’ve been here.
What do you enjoy most about working at Stanford?
I enjoy the camaraderie among colleagues who take pride in making a difference for the patients in the Endoscopy unit. The patients that come to the Endoscopy unit often say that the staff works so well together and that they feel there is such a strong sense of rapport and friendship that makes it such a fun unit to work.
What would you tell someone considering employment at Stanford?
Stanford is a great teaching institution that maintains high standards in healthcare. Stanford employs nurturing staff that constantly work to develop and support its employees to pursue excellence in order to provide the best quality care to patients.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy or what is it about you personally that makes you a valuable member of the Stanford team?
As a member of SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association), I attend conferences to keep up with the most recent information that can help patient care. I enjoy promoting my area of specialty to others outside of work to bring awareness of the variety of Endoscopy procedures that can benefit a patient. It is important for me to inform others that Stanford Hospital Endoscopy unit truly has the best team of highly skilled and professional nurses and technicians. They take pride in providing outstanding patient care and making a difference with their work. I also enjoy Pilates, travel, and spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
